Six months have passed since the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and the three agencies, CBI, NCB and ED, are continuing to investigate the case. While CBI and ED look at the suicide and abuse of financial angle respectively, the Narcotics Control Bureau is investigating the drug angle that emerged before the actor’s death. In addition to girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty, actors like Deepika Padukone, Shraddha Kapoor, Sara Ali Khan, Arjun Rampal and Rakul Preet Singh among others have been summoned for questioning.
Now, according to a latest report in Mumbai Mirror, the NCB investigating the Bollywood drug link has made it a step further and sent 85 devices to The Directorate of Forensic Sciences (DFS) in Gandhinagar. These devices include high quality phones from celebrities like Deepika, Shraddha, Sara, Rhea Chakraborty and Arjun Rampal among others. The Gujarati forensic scientists have started recovering data from these devices, which also include laptops and pens. And extracted data from 30 cell phones were sent to the NCB, Mirror reported.
These phones are thoroughly analyzed by the team as they recover deleted videos, chat messages and photos from these phones. Considering that they are high-quality phones, forensics reportedly had to get more tool to carry out the recovery. The NCB also confirms these recovered data through its proposals to the agency.
In addition to data recovery, the NCB has also sent about 25 samples of drugs that have so far been caught in attacks in Mumbai.
