Former Indian fast bowler S Sreesanth is close to returning to competitive cricket after a long absence. He has been included in the list of two players from Kerala for the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy T20 tournament.
Sreesanth was banned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for match-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In addition to the 37-year-old, Kerala’s list of potential players released on Tuesday includes veteran players like Sanju Samson, Sachin Baby, Jalaj Saxena, Robin Uthappa and Basil Thampi.
Sreesanth’s ban ended in September this year. According to sources, he will participate in the team camp from December 20 to 300. Earlier, he was selected for the team in the T20 series organized by the Kerala Cricket Association.
He last represented the Indian team in 2011. He was part of the Indian team that won the T20 World Cup in 200 teams and the ODI World Cup in 2011.
