Henriques added to an Australian squad for Adelaide Test

Moises Henriques last played Test in August 2016

Moises Henriques, the numerous New South Wales player, has been added to the Australian Test squad for the first match of the Border Gavaskar Trophy, to be played in Adelaide since Friday. Sean Abbott will miss the game and is expected to be available for the Boxing Day Test.

Abbott will continue his rehabilitation for a mild calf strain sustained during Australia A’s recent game against India at the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Henriques recovered from a mild popliteal strain that excluded him from the Australia A games against India. He has just returned to the national side with appearances in the series of limited against India and will join Mitchell Starc and the rest of the Australian Test squad, who will arrive in Adelaide later today.

Henriques has not been around the Australian red ball arrangement for a long time, last played a Test match more than four years ago, in Sri Lanka. In his four Test match career to date, he has scored two fifties, picked two wickets and failed to impress to get a regular run.
