- Kolkata lost despite Russell’s stormy innings
- … It was very frustrating later on
Andre Russell fired hard against the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) bowlers on Friday. Russell scored 54 off 22 balls. Russell hit six sixes and four fours in his innings. Despite this innings, Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) lost by 118 runs.
In fact, Russell was caught on his web by Sam Crane. Russell realized that Curran kept the ball off the stumps at the base of the field. That’s why Russell decided to shoot accordingly. But Crane fell to the line of the leg stump and he became bold. Russell was frustrated when he was out and he quietly sat down on the dressing room stairs and watched the game. They did not even remove the helmets, pads, and gloves.

Let us know that KKR invited CSK to bat first at Wankhede Stadium. CSK scored 220/3 for the brilliant innings of Faf du Plessis (95 not out) and Itu Turaj Gaikwad (64 not out). In reply, KKR scored 202 runs in 19.1 overs.
At one point, KKR lost their wickets for just 311 runs. In the end, Pat Cummins played an unbeaten 66 for KKR (balls 34 balls) which proved to be insufficient. Deepak Chahar from CSK took the most wickets.
This is the third consecutive defeat of Kolkata Knight Riders. KKR’s next match will be against Rajasthan Royals (RR) on Saturday. The match will be played at Wankhede Stadium only.
