A biopic about hockey legend Dhyan Chand has been announced and producer Ronnie Screwvala has roped in Abhishek Chaubey to direct the upcoming film scheduled to hit theaters in 2022. Dhyan Chand was celebrated as “The Wizard” and represented the Indian hockey team from 1925 to 1949. He scored over 1500 goals in the 185 matches he played as a center forward during his international career, which includes three Olympic gold medals in 1928, 1932 and 1936. He was congratulated with the Padma Bhushan in 1956 and his birthday on 29 August, is celebrated as the National Sports Day.
