All 525 eligible students of programs including PGP and PGP BA from IIM Bangalore were recruited for summer placements by more than 130 companies who made 529 bids. The summer placement was done online due to the pandemic. Roles offered included PE / VC, business analytics, consulting, finance, general management, IT / product management, operations, sales and marketing.
A total of 144 bids were made in consulting, and 71 bids were made in the area of finance, banking and investment. A total of 95 bids were made in market and sales bids. Up to 81 leading track or general management track offers have been made by Indian commercial conglomerates. In addition, there were 93 bids in the broad domain of Information Technology (IT), and 27 bids were made in the operating sector, the IIM-B said in an official statement.

“Traditional recruiters have supported us by bringing new roles through departments. New recruiters have come in. In addition to the field of consulting, students have also received many offers for S&M (95), general management (81) and finance (71),” said Anushree Jibhakate, a local student representative, IIM- Bangalore.
The first batch of students from the PGP-BA program at IIM-B also received bids in all domains. Professor U Dinesh Kumar, the president of MBA on business analysis, said the response from leading companies is a show of confidence in the analysis program offered by IIM-B.
